We both feel like we've been gone a lot longer than 3 weeks. It seems like a long, long time ago that we were in Nashville on the first leg of our trip. We've covered a lot of the country in those 3 weeks and we're loving every bit of it!
We were sad to leave Jackson, WY this morning. What a beautiful place and what a fun time we had there! We loved our hotel there - Wyoming Inn. We would highly recommend it! Beautiful lodge with a big stone fireplace, in which they had a fire every afternoon and evening. Love that smell.
We loved the Grand Teton Natl. Park. It is just spectacular! We enjoyed it so much that when we went to Yellowstone yesterday we didn't appreciate it like we should have. I think maybe we should have gone to Yellowstone first. But that is just our personal preference and they are both beautiful parks and well worth the visit!
We made it to Boise about 4:00 today. We checked into our hotel - gotta love those walk-in rates - and headed downtown. What a beautiful little city, a very pleasant surprise! Gerry had done his due diligence and found us a great spot for dinner. It was a cute outdoor restaurant. The city is filled with outdoor restaurants! We had a yummy dinner and then took a walk around town and then a drive around Boise State. There were bikes parked everywhere around the town. Appears to be a very healthy (where we ate was all organic food) place to live. So if you're every passing by Boise, stop long enough to go downtown for a meal. You'll be pleasantly surprised, as we were!
Tomorrow we're off to Oregon and plan to spend the first nite close to one of their national parks. We found out that at the age of 62 you can buy a pass for $10 that will allow us into any national park for the rest of our lives. Now THAT is a deal!
We have been blessed with great weather our whole trip. We have had 1 cloudy day, which is the day in Jackson, and we used it to just relax, do laundry and do some planning for the next part of our trip. We needed that day!
Until our next entry, we hope you all are doing great and staying cool.....
