A day in the Grand Teton National Park
What a day we had today! After a while you'd think you would be immune to the beautiful sights. Words such as wow, unbelievable, awesome, etc etc seem to dominate our conversations. Everywhere one looks, we see beauty. We took some 120 pictures today but we'll try to illustrate a few representative ones.
Weather has been really terrific... Today the high was 73 degrees with very low humidity... really refreshing and invigorating. Our server at lunch today said we timed it right--it has just recently turned nice. In past weeks they've experienced snow, ice and rain. We're lucky!
Haven't really seen any wild life yet. Lots of warning signs but no sightings as yet. We're planning on going to Yellowstone National Park and I understand we're more likely to see wild animals there.

Finally saw some wildlife today.... herd of buffalo roaming right next to the road. (Are buffalo considered wildlife?) had a very relaxing day today which we desparately needed. We are determined not to make work out of this.
Took an aerial tram to the top of a ski run today. At the top, it was 39 degrees with wind blowing 25-30 mph... me in shorts. Well needless to say we didn't stay up there very long. But what a great view of the Teton valley.
Made a course change today. We were planning on going up to Glacier National Park beginning Wednesday but after seeing the weather is still pretty cold up there, made a decision to head for Oregon on Wed where we will tour the Oregon coast, play some golf at Bandon Dunes, and visit some dear friends of ours from our time in Massachusetts some 30 yrs ago (Carole and Don Simon). We will meet up with Mike & Beth and Heather the week of July 17. Following that we'll be joining Merlin and Debbie Wheeler and Kristen for an Alaskan cruise beginning July 23rd.
