I will never forget watching our pastor friend as the doors opened and Beth stepped into the church. He had tears in his eyes. Next day in church he told the congregation that when those doors opened for Beth to walk down the aisle, he felt the presence of God enter the sanctuary and he was overwhelmed with awe. What a beautiful and special ceremony. Someone told me later that she thought every heart was touched that day. That is exactly what I had prayed for.
Then it was on to the reception and what a fun time was had by all. :-) I think everybody was dancing all night! They had a great DJ, but the BEST DJ was the groom, Michael! He had been a DJ in college and when he got ahold of the controls he really rocked the house! I will never forget that part of the reception. Gerry and I had never seen him do his thing before and we were just beaming! He was AWESOME!!!
As the night was winding down, even the grandparents got into the moment. There were play instruments that the DJ had brought and they picked them up and were pretend-playing their instruments while we were snapping pictures and enjoying every minute of watching the grandparents let loose!
Pure joy - that's the word for their special day!!! And as Bob Hope always said, "Thanks for the memories!" We love you, Beth and Michael!!! And a VERY Happy 20th Anniversary!!!
