Well, after seeing people cycling all around us we decided it was time to rent bikes. We were so excited to check out the biking trail. We had finally adjusted to the high altitude. By the way, we were amazed at how hard it was to adjust. You feel like you can't get your breath, it can give you a headache or nausea, and it can cause sleeplessness. Other than that, you feel GREAT! :-) We didn't feel any of that when we were younger. But after 3-4 days you do adjust. So yesterday was our 5th day here and so we were READY! We got on the bikes and headed out on the trail. It's just great going down (and the key word here is DOWN) the trail. Runs along the creek for quite a while. You're just cruising along, loving life, surrounded on all sides by such beauty! After 40 min. Gerry said, "Maybe we should turn around and head back, since it's all uphill". I totally agreed and figured we'd be back waaay before our bikes would be due back but that would give us opportunity to stop and just admire the beauty along the way.
Well, it's a good thing we had 24 gears on the bikes. Trust me, we used ALL the lower ones!!! It does NOT look that steep, but do not be deceived by looks! I know that it would have been much, much easier if we were in shape. Whew!!! I could have used a good Oxygen Bar - they actually have one here! And we did stop many times, but it wasn't to look at the beauty surrounding me, it was to BREATH!!! By the time we got back to the bike shop I could have jumped for joy - if I could have even gotten my feet off the ground at that point! :-) We were glad to see that after we got off the bikes we could actually walk. We actually felt great after walking around for a while! We stopped and sat on a park bench by the creek to read our books for a while. Never get tired of seeing that beautiful water running down over the rocks and hearing that sound. So very peaceful.
Got back to Valdoro and decided to check our the lounge. Thankfully we did because they had the Red Sox game on....wahoo! Not only that, but the room was filled with Red Sox fans! Everybody in the room had at one time or another lived in MA. Made for fun conversation! Only bad thing about the day was the outcome of the game! Nevertheless, it was another wonderful day in paradise! :-)

| I think I'm thinking, "Whose bright idea was this???" |
We made lots of stops to take pictures on the way UP
the looooong hill. A good excuse to rest
and breathe!!! |
How about this pic. I'm riding and
taking a picture at the same time.
Isn't that like driving and texting? |
| STOP! Time for another picture! |
At this point we could have jumped
in that water!!! |
Love those bridges that you can
just lean against for a while! |
How's this for a pretty little spot to stop
and rest.... |
| I soooo should have been wearing this t-shirt! |
After the ride it was time to sit, relax and
whip out the Kindles! Aaaaaahhh! |
Looks like an old western town and the town
has lovingly taken care of all
of the buildings. |
| Love the old buildings in Breckenridge |
| I just love this view! |
