From the moment you drive through the front gate and met at the golf bag drop area where a valet is waiting to park your car, to the golf cart that has everything !!! wood grained steering wheel, golf tee dispenser, garbage disposal, tilt steering wheel, et al. The golf course itself was in immaculate condition with not a blade of grass out of place. The fore caddy made the round enjoyable and kept play moving a great pace. And to top it all off, they have the only true island green. The only way to get to the green to putt out is to take a boat.
As much as I enjoyed Coeur d'Alene, I actually enjoyed the golf course at Circling Raven just as much. Had a terrific couple as playing partners... Lisa and Jamie Kalua who were at the resort to recharge their batteries. Jamie is a die hard Yankee fan but I didn't let that interfere with my enjoyment of playing with him. Jamie was originally from Portland and went to college at Baker University in Kansas and is a Jayhawk fan as well, so we did have a lot in common. Of our group, Lisa is the golfer... She played golf in college at Portland State and man could she belt the ball a country mile!
In addition to Lisa and Jamie, a 14 year old girl by the name of Ashley played with us. Since she wasn't old enough to drive a cart, Jan became her cart driver. Very interesting teenager! There are pictures at the bottom of our golf experience at Circling Raven.... if you are a golfer and ever get out to this part of the country, include this golf course in your itinerary.
