Well, today we left Coeur d'Alene to drive to Sandpoint. We weren't sure what to expect but I had found a place called The Lodge at Sandpoint. Oh my, did we strike it rich with this place.....beautiful lodge with a perfect spot right on this amazing lake surrounded by mountains! Awesome!!! There is a little beach, a dock and a floating deck for relaxing and all kinds of places to sit and read or sun or just chill.
There is a restaurant on site and so we have just parked the car and will NOT move until the 9th! We met a fun, young couple at dinner tonite. We are just loving all of the people we are meeting on our travels. This young couple, Julianna and Greg, are from Spokane and were up here for a weekend party with friends and decided they wanted ONE more nite here before heading back to work in Spokane. They are both lawyers in Spokane and they were just so friendly, cute and fun! We had to make ourselves get up and leave to give them some time alone! :-)
Wish we had a week here! Just when we think we've seen the prettiest place, we see another place even more beautiful. We have loved Wyoming, Oregon, Washington and now Idaho! Can't say enough about the beauty of the Pacific Northwest! Next stop, Montana......but first, we'll just sit back, relax and enjoy today at The Lodge at Sandpoint for one more day!!! Aaaaaahhh.......

View of the Lake from The Lodge at Sandpoint. Lodge is only 4 years old and was built by the owner over a two year span. Beautiful hand work throughout.

Don't need it now but this fireplace would be a welcome sight in the winter

This floating deck is for the Lodge's occupants. The water is about 68 degrees. Kinda cold when you jump in but very refreshing with the 82 degree weather.
