Our last nite in Breckenridge.....

Oh my, there are times I really do miss having a great memory!  :-)  Actually, that would be MOST of the time!

I totally forgot that I hadn't written about our last night in Breckenridge.  I must write this because we met a wonderful couple that night.  We had heard that Hearthstone was one of the best, if not THE best, restaurants in Breckenridge.  So we had to give it a try!

We got there and decided to sit at the bar and enjoy their happy hour (which always includes appetizers at half-price).  When you're eating out all the time, it's very important to find the "deals"!  So we sat down and began to chat with our bartender who was as cute and friendly as she could be.  Her name is Brittany.

Shortly after we sat down, a couple sat down next to us and we began to chat with them.  We found out that they had bought a home, built in the 1800's and had completely renovated it.  It was across the street from the restaurant and they were kind enough to invite us over to see their home and for a glass of wine.  How nice is that!!!  So after our appetizers we were off with Karen and Dennis to see their home.  What a warm, inviting home they have.

It always amazes me how someone can walk into a house that is an absolute mess and see potential.  That is what they did with their home.  When they bought it it had been lived in for years by young, male renters.  Okay, I know you're imagining exactly what they walked into.  And to be able to see past that takes a real visionary.  After many, many months they have a beautiful home now.  They had put in a firepit on the side of the house.  So, we sat outside on a chilly fall evening and enjoyed getting to know our new friends.  What a wonderful way to spend our last night in Breckenridge!

I know I've said this many times before, but please humor me while I say it once again, making friends along the way has been one of the best gifts of our adventure!   : )

This is Brittany, the bartender at Hearthstone and full of fun and personality!
This is Karen and Dennis who so graciously invited us over to their home

A new friend in Vail

I honestly have no clue where we were in this picture!   :-)

Yes, another beautiful mountain stream.  There is just no way NOT to stop for a picture!

And to stop and feel how chilly the water is.......

Our afternoon in Vail....Like being in Switzerland.

Oh look, another mountain stream!
